A press conference was held in Thakurgaon on the occasion of starting countdown for the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The press conference organized by the Deputy Commissioner was held in the conference room on Thursday afternoon.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. KM Kamruzzaman Selim presided over the briefing. Additional Deputy Commissioner Noor Kutubul Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Aminul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Abu Taher Md. Abdullah, Thakurgaon Press Club President Mansur Ali and electronic media journalists were present at the time.
According to the deputy commissioner sources, the countdown will commence on January 10, the homecoming day of Bangabandhu to celebrate Mujib Barsho. The district administration has planned various programs at district and upazila level. 17 March 2020 to 17 March 2021 is being considered as the Mujib Barsho celebrating birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
