As Thakurgaon district has not received rain for a long time and people's lives have become miserable in the heat, special prayers have been made for rain.
At the mid of summer, there is no rain. People's life in the district has been disturbed due to severe drought. Litchi and mango fruits are drying up on the trees due to lack of rain. On the other hand, due to lack of rain, the crops are getting ruined. Water level has dropped due to lack of rain.
There is drinking water crisis in 4 Unions of Thakurgaon Sadar. And common people are fed up with this intense heat.
Locals of the area offered special prayers at Madhya Bhandara Darul Quran Salimiya Madrasa field of Ranishankail upazila at 9:30 am on Saturday, hoping for rain. After the prayer, more than 600 worshipers prayed for rain.
Mufti Yakub Ali of Bhandara Darul Qur'an Salimiya Madrasa said that people are in great danger for water as it has not rained for a long time. Allah said to ask for rain or water through prayer. It is sunnah to ask Allah. Here people from different professions participate in prayer.
It should be noted that due to severe drought and long absence of rain, hostile weather is prevailing in Thakurgaon district.
Due to the hot weather, children and old people are suffering from heat-related diseases and are being admitted to Sadar Hospital and Upazila Health Complex.
The temperature has been recorded above 40 degrees.
