Textile talent hunt launched

A one-year long 7th session of Textile Talent Hunt (TTH) was launched at The Daily Star Centre in the capital on Sunday, report agencies.

The Textile Talent Hunt is an initiative of Bangladesh Textile Today, a business magazine, in association with Bangladesh University of Textile (BUTEX) and The Textile Institute (TI).

The programme is focusing to prepare future leaders who will be able to adopt latest developments coming constantly in the textile industry. Undergraduate students from all public, private and national universities can take part in the competition.

As the chief guest of the event, Abdullah Hil Rakib, Managing Director, MD Team Group said, “We’re proud to be part of this great talent hunting event for the seventh season.”

Tareq Amin, founder and CEO of Bangladesh Textile Today, said the new model will help discover right talents and assist them to be transforming leaders (TLs) for the textile sector.

“We to engage each and every textile university so that students get equal chances to participate in this renowned competition,” he said. According to a press release, the TLs will be trained, groomed and tagged with about 50 companies to develop ‘Practically Tested Transformation Model’. About Tk 50 lakhs Transformation Fund will be used to practically test 100 ideas by 100 ‘Transformation Teams’.

Textile Today Training already declared Tk 30 lakhs scholarship for these 100 Transformation Leaders (TLs). Prof Dr Engineer Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro Vice-Chancellor of BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology Program chaired the event.
