Since the Holey Artisan attacks, extremist activities have been at a decline due to a clampdown on militant activities. Though it seems that militancy has been rooted out but that is not the case.
The recruitment of youths by terrorist organizations is going on covertly. These youths are lured in with the offers of attractive packages through online networks. They are radicalising many young and vulnerable people and using them to carry out violent activities.
The ones who are most likely to join these terror outfits are those who have no patriotism, kindness, responsibility, and who are devoid of tolerance and have failed in accepting reality. Youths aged between 15 and 30 are the most vulnerable groups and have chances to be engaged in extremism and militancy.

The issue of radicalization is not just a surface problem which can be solved by enforcing laws. The underlying causes must be identified and everyone in civil society must come together to tackle this issue.
Parents and teachers have the main responsibility of properly communicating with young people and warning them of the dangers of extremism. The youths must learn moral values and be compassionate and tolerant.
It might prove impossible to curb extremism completely, but we, as a society, must try to reduce its reach by spreading awareness. We must try to reach out to those in our society who are in vulnerable position.
Those who feel isolated and feel that society has failed them turn to such heinous activities as a last resort.
Communal harmony and importance of secular values and patriotism must be emphasized in people of all ages. We must foster an
environment of peace and understanding and stop anyone who tries to incite hate and
disharmony.
