Teenager killed by juvenile gang

A group of juveniles stabbed a teenage boy to death publicly at Bank Colony area in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital on Sunday. 

The deceased was identified as Rohanur Rahman Rohan, 17, son of Abdus Sobhan, hailed from Karnapara area in Savar. He was an 11th grader of a local college.

“The body was sent to Shahid Suhrawardi Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy. We have already opened an investigating into the matter and trying to arrest the involved ones. Preparation to file a case in this connection is underway” said, Savar model police station OC AFM Sayeed.

A cousin to the deceased and an eyewitness of the murder Ridowan told The Bangladesh Post, “We went to a local restaurant named ‘Muri-Motka’ to have some food. Suddenly a juvenile gang of around 40 to 50 boys including Ridoy, 16, and Tiktok Rahi, 17, equipped with bamboo sticks and rods attacked Rohan. At one point, two of the attacker stabbed Rohan and left him critically injured. Later, duty doctor at Enam Medical College Hospital declared Rohan dead”.

Meanwhile, a local source said, basically there was a feud between Rohan and Ridoy over a love relation centering a girl, and the murder might have happened centering that conflict.
