In the city of Faridpur, a 13-year-old girl has been gang raped while buying medicines. Police have arrested four people in this incident.
Although the girl confessed to gang-rape ten days ago, the helpless family could not take legal recourse or even get treatment for the girl due to the constant threats of the rapists.
Last Wednesday (August 19) the girl became more ill and was admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. After the girl was admitted to the hospital, the matter of rape became known.
Last Wednesday (August 19) at noon, the teenager studied at Faridpur Medical Examiner should be a student. The time of the rape is not known.
Then on Wednesday and Thursday (August 20) till noon, the police raided various places in Faridpur city and arrested four youths involved in the rape.
Later, the victim’s father filed a rape case with the Faridpur Kotwali Police Station on Thursday afternoon, naming five youths.
According to the statement of case, the father of the victim is sick. After the Maghrib prayers on August 11, the girl went to the area adjacent to the Luxury Hotel in Goalchamat area to buy medicine for her sick father. At that time, five youths grabbed the girl, raped her and took her to the back of Santosh Saha’s house at Sriangan No. 1 alley.
Confirming the incident, Faridpur Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Rashedul Islam told media that the incident of rape came to the notice of the police when the girl was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. After talking to the girl, four youths involved in the incident were arrested by conducting raids in different parts of the city from Wednesday night to Thursday afternoon.
He said the youths arrested in the rape case on Friday would be handed over to the district chief judicial magistrate’s court for remand.
Saifur Rahman, director of Faridpur Medical College Hospital, said the girl was being treated in the hospital’s labor ward. From there she will be transferred to the One Stop Crisis Center (OCC) on Friday.
