The names of the skippers for all the five teams of the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 Cup have been finalised. The names of the captains of the four teams were already known till Wednesday. The remaining team Minister Group Rajshahi announced the name of their captain on Thursday.
Rajshahi have announced young left-arm batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto will lead their side. The announcement came during the unveiling of their team’s jersey and the release of the theme song on Thursday. Shanto captained his team to runners-up in the recently concluded BCB President's Cup.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, Beximco Dhaka announced that they would be led by wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim. Later that night, Gazi Group named middle-order batsman Mohammad Mithun as Gazi Group Chattogram captain.
Star studded Gemcon Khulna were in jeopardy with their skipper selection. With two top national team players, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmuduallah Riyad in their roster, it was kind of a stern task for them to select their captain from these two elites. Everyone was curious about that situation.
However, later on Tuesday they gave the responsibility of leading Dhaka on Mahmudullah Riyad’s shoulder. Left-arm opener and national team ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal will lead Fortune Barisal.
Meanwhile, the coaches of the five teams have been fixed earlier. Khaled Mahmud Sujon will coach Dhaka, Mohammad Salauddin will coach Chattogram, Mizanur Rahman will coach Khulna, Sarwar Imran will coach Rajshahi and Sohail Islam will coach Barisal.
