The members of steering committee of Rajshahi University Muktijuddher Chetona O Mullobodhe Bishwasi Progotishil Shikhak Somaj has alleged that a section of teachers—demonstrating for the removal of the vice chancellor and the pro-vice-chancellor on the allegations of corruptions since October 02—has taken strategy of raising advanced complaints against the current university administration anticipating the outcome of their own irregularities and corruptions.

The allegation made by the committee’s members while addressing a press conference at the university Zuberi Bhaban on Thursday morning. The steering committee’s convener professor M Mozibur Rahman in the written statement claimed that the teachers who were demonstrating on campus against so called corruptions were involved in various kinds of corruptions and irregularities when they were in power.

He further claimed that ‘They have taken the strategy of raising advanced complaints against the university current administration so that they can say that the university authority has brought allegations of corruptions against them on account of anger if those are probed’,.

The progressive teachers’ society is always against all kind of corruptions and irregularities. ‘We condemn those teachers who take false strategy to hide their own irregularities and corruptions’, also said professor Mozibur Rahman. The probe report was sent to the University Grant Commission and the education ministry one year earlier. However, no action has been taken in this regard yet, he claimed.

While asking, professor Mozibur Rahman said that they wanted the concerned authorities would investigate into all kind of allegations and ensure punishment against those in order to make the campus free from corruption and establish rule of law. Among others, steering committee’s members professor Chitta Ranjan Misra, professor Golam Kabir, professor Abu Bakar, professor Subhash Chandra Sil, professor Golam Sabbir Sattar Tapu, and professor Md Emaj Uddin were present at the press conference.
