Teachers, students should focus more on research: Experts

 A two-day seminar on 'Significance of Mathematics in Scientific Research and Engineering Sectors' organized by Jamalpur Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnecha Mujib University of Science and Technology Mathematics Department started on January 22. 

Chairman of Mathematics Department Ripon Roy was the chief guest in the seminar.  Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr Kamrul Alam Khan were also present.  In the speech of the chief guest, he said that the university will be developed as an international research-based higher education institution despite being new.  Because "to build a poverty-free and developed 'Smart Bangladesh' declared by the honorable Prime Minister by 2041, we must give importance to science and technology.  He also said that an ICT lab will be set up in the premises of Ati Satwar University. 

 So that ICT will play an important role in expanding education to create skilled manpower.  He urged teachers and students to be research-oriented and said that mathematics is necessary in any research.  The use of mathematics is essential in every field of study, including mathematics, engineering, medicine, biology and economics.  Therefore, he mentioned that teachers and students should play a role in the research program.  Professor Dr Abul Hayat Sajib, Professor of Applied Mathematics Department of Rajshahi University as the key-note speaker in the seminar.  Ali Akbar shed light on various aspects of the research work in detail.  At this time, the chairmen of various departments, teachers and students of other departments including mathematics department were present.
