The Ministry of Education has announced an increase in the monthly salary of head teachers and assistant and junior teachers working in grant-in-aided independent Ibtedayi madrasas. The announcement was made through a letter from the Technical and Madrasa Education Department of the ministry on August 13.

According to the letter, the monthly salary for head teachers of 1,519 independent Ibtedai madrasas has been increased from Tk 2,500 to Tk 3,000. Additionally, the monthly grant for assistant and junior teachers has been raised from Tk 2,300 to Tk 3,300. The ministry has also taken steps to ensure that these teachers receive appropriate promotions.

The letter mentioned that only the current working teachers are eligible for this increase. It also emphasized that all financial regulations set by the government must be strictly followed while providing these grants.

This move comes after teachers of independent Ibtedai madrasas have long been demanding better pay and nationalization of their jobs. The increase in salary is seen as a positive step towards addressing some of their concerns. However, many teachers are still advocating for the nationalization of these madrasas to secure better job stability and benefits.

The Ministry of Education's decision to increase the monthly grants reflects its commitment to improving the financial situation of teachers in independent Ibtedai madrasas. This increase is expected to provide some relief to the teachers who have been working under challenging financial conditions. The teachers hope that further steps will be taken to address their other demands, including job security and better working conditions.
