Teachers embezzle students’ stipends at Shundarganj

Two school teachers allegedly embezzled hundreds of students’ stipends (education scholarship) through forging signatures of government officials in Gaibandha’s Sundarganj upazila. 

Despite an affirmative probe report on the embezzlement of stipends allocated for students of Nutan Dulal Bharat High School at Sundarganj, authorities are yet to take any action against the perpetrators.

Jahidul Islam, assistant teacher and Ashraf Ali, acting head of the school have allegedly swindled a large amount of money by showing hundreds of fake students in the school.

They allegedly forged Executive Magistrate and Secondary Education official of the Shundarganj upazila of Gaibandha district and applied for stipends for non-existent students to the Dinajpur education board after changing the school code (password).

Students and guardians protested the act after noticing that they are not getting the government education scholarship and submitted allegation to the Dinajpur Education Board.

Following the allegation, Dinajpur Education Board investigate and submit report accusing the duo teacher of embezzling students’ money. 

Despite an affirmative probe report on the embezzlement of stipends allocated for students of Nutan Dulal Bharat High School at Sundarganj, authorities are yet to take any action against the perpetrators.

This correspondent tried to contact with the duo teachers but they didn’t received several phone calls.

Dinajpur Education Board official, requesting not to be named said that they (Jahidul Islam and Ashraf Ali) are not good people and said action will be taken against them soon.
