A teacher has been accused of trying to extort and embezzle money from SSC candidates while talking about the farewell ceremony at Jathalia Majidchala High School in Gazipur's Kaliakair upazila. When she protested, the headmaster of the school beat up a departing student. The injured SSC candidate is undergoing treatment at the Upazila Health Complex. The injured were identified as Bithi Akhter, daughter of Banij Miah of Jathalia area in Kaliakair upazila. She is an SSC candidate of Jathalia Majidchala High School of the upazila.
According to the family and complaint of the injured student, the incident took place at the premises of Jathalia Majidchala High School in Kaliakair upazila. Out of 510 students of that school, 105 are SSC candidates this year. The school authorities have collected Rs. Except for the SSC candidates, the rest of the students were not informed about the farewell ceremony. Last Wednesday morning, the students went to the school and saw that only clothes were spread on the floor.
The school authorities have bought only 6 kg jilapi for Milad. At which time the student protested and about 60 thousand rupees was taken from the candidates in which sector? When asked about this, the headmaster of the school Mokhlesur Rahman got angry. He later called the student in front of the office room and slapped him on the face, nails, eyes and body.
Later, his family members rescued him and admitted him to the Upazila Health Complex. The trainee lodged two separate complaints with the Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Kaliakair Police Station on Thursday morning. At present the student is undergoing treatment at the Upazila Health Complex.
Mokhlesur Rahman, the headmaster of the accused school, said that 500 rupees had been taken from the students for the farewell ceremony. Some students come to Milad Mahfil wearing genji and sound box. At that time, when asked to go home, the rest of the students did not go. On the contrary, if he treats me badly, I give him a slap.
Upazila Nibarhi Officer Tajwar Akram Sakapi Ibn Sajjad said the matter would be investigated and action would be taken as per rules.
