A child has been accused of sexual abuse in Tarash Upazila of Sirajganj. In this incident, a tea seller named Dulal Hossain (18) was detained by the police for questioning.
On Sunday (October 23) morning, he was arrested in Paushar village of Madhainagar union of the upazila. Earlier, on Saturday evening, a school student was sexually assaulted.
The arrested Dulal is the son of Sabuj Hossain of Binodpur village. He is a tea seller by profession.
Police and locals said that the child was playing in the yard of his house on Saturday evening.
At that time, Dulal Hossain called the child to his house, promising to give chocolates. The child was later sexually assaulted.
Hearing the screams of the child, the people nearby went to the spot and rescued him.
Later, the child was admitted to a 50-bed health complex. When the child's condition deteriorated there, he was transferred to the 250-bed Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital in Sirajganj that same day and night.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tarash police station Shahidul Islam said that a young man named Dulal Hossain was brought to the police station for questioning on the charge of sexually abusing a child. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
