A 10-year tax exemption facility on agro processing, fruit processing, milk and dairy production, and farm machinery manufacturing will generate fresh investments and create huge employment opportunities in rural area of the country.
Business people will be encouraged to set up fruit, milk and dairy based industries while thousands of farmers, especially young people will show interest in fruit cultivation and livestock farming as they will get fair prices for their produce.
A recent report published in this daily says that the new entrepreneurs who will invest in four agro-based sectors will get tax exemption for the first 10 years of their commercial production. We highly appreciate the government’s move that will attract new investments to the sectors and also play a vital role in product diversification because the country now exports only some raw agro items.

As the country lacks industrialisation as well as scientific food processing system, middlemen are benefiting more than the farmers despite having a plenty of fruits, vegetables and other food items. We think the prospect of agro-processing enterprises is bright in our country as we are producing surplus crops especially food-grains, fruits and vegetables.
We believe our youths can create self-employments by establishing milk and dairy farms and cultivating fruits and vegetables and thus will make themselves financially solvent instead of running after jobs.
Apart from tax exemption facility, the government should create a favorable atmosphere so that the private sector comes forward to set up agro-based industry as there are lot of scopes of food diversification from milk and dairy farms, mango such juice, pickle, vegetables and other items. Besides, the government will have to focus on increasing the export volume of agro products to foreign countries, especially the European market alongside domestic one.
Therefore, we think the businessmen and the farmers will fulfill conditions including ensuring safety and package standard for getting access to the foreign market. We hope government’s measures will create a huge commercial prospect for entrepreneurs and the growers to get higher prices of their best quality produce.
