Tasnuva wins 2nd place in Int’l Yoga Competition

The 3rd South Asia Yoga Sports Championship and the 2nd edition of the 'MT Everest International Yoga Festival' were going on in Nepal. The 3-day sports contest and festival was held from June 8 to June 10 in Katmandu.

Bangladeshi competitor Tasnuva Shahid took third and second places in two consecutive competitions with her outstanding performance in this international competition..

She took third prize at 'South Asia Yoga Sports Championship' and also winning the second at 'MY Everest International Yoga Festival'. The yoga competitor Tasnuva is garnering praise for Bangladesh in the international arena by her performance . In this competition she was a contestant of group 'E'.

She flew from Dhaka to Kathmandu on June 7 to participate in the competition. She returned to Dhaka today on June 10. In the '3rd South Asia Yoga Sports Championship' competition India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Maldives also participated. Athletes from Iran and Saudi Arabia also competed with SAARC member countries at '2nd Mountain Everest International Yoga Festival'. Not only this time, Tasnuva proved herself on the international scene through yoga.

Earlier on International Yoga Day 21 June 2021, she represented Bangladesh at the "Banga Maitri International Yoga Cup 2021" Bangladesh-India Joint Yoga Competition.

Last year, on 21 June the 8th International Day of Yoga organized by the Indian High Commission at the Mirpur Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in Dhaka won appreciation by demonstrating various types of yoga and yoga asanas.

In can be noted that Tasnuva is a certified yoga student who has successfully completed the yoga course at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, Indian High Commissioner.  She is also a former lawn tennis player. She became the national champion in lawn tennis twice in 2005 and 2007. Currently working as a staff lawyer of Bangladesh Legal Aid (BLAST). Besides practicing yoga regularly as a competitor.
