Bangladesh right arm pace bowler Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out of the next phase of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League T20 after sustaining injury on his left thumb, the Bangladesh Cricket Board physician confirmed to Cricbuzz on Friday.

Taskin, who is representing Mohammedan Sporting Club, picked the injury while fielding on the boundary line against KhelagharKallayanSamity during his team's last game and as a result required a couple of stitches.

"The cut is one inch deep and he needed a couple of stitches. He will need at least seven days rest before starting his rehabilitation," BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury told Cricbuzz on Friday. "Actually he had an injury during an international series and somehow picked the injury in the same place again."

Taskin was the leading wicket-taker of MSC in the group phase with 10 wickets under his belt.

Meanwhile, in another development, DPL club Legends of Rupganj on Friday requested the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis to change their match venue and increase umpiring facilities during their Relegation League match against Old DOHS.

In a letter conveyed to CCDM chairman, Rupganj said they wanted CCDM to host their match against Old DOHS at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka instead of BKSP-3 as there are no super league matches slated at SBNS on that day.

Rupganj also requested ICC panel umpires and referees for the match and urged for DRS facility in the match that is likely to decide the second team to get relegated from DPL. Partex Sporting Club, which could bag only one point from the first phase, have already been relegated while Rupganj and Old DOHS earned seven and six points respectively after the first phase.
