Taskin Ahmed was initially named to the ODI squad for the forthcoming West Indies tour, but after a successful recuperation, he has now been added to the T20I squad as well. Due to a shoulder injury last month, he was unable to play in the two-Test series against Sri Lanka.

On May 22, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named a 15-man T20I team for the upcoming West Indies tour. Taskin Ahmed has been added to the team, bringing the total number of players to 16.

"He has been included [in the T20I squad for the West Indies tour]. He will be played according to the physio's advice," BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin told members of the media Tuesday.

"I am bowling six-over spells one day and then eight-over spells the next day. That's the pattern I am following day in and day out. Seriously, it feels like Eid when you can bowl again," a delighted Taskin told media on Tuesday.

He traveled to London in order to seek medical advice from a doctor. Taskin was relieved to learn that his injuries did not necessitate surgery.

The fast bowler began bowling on June 1st, and his physical condition impressed the physios enough for him to be selected for the T20I series.

Bangladesh are scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is in their upcoming multi-format tour of the West Indies, set to begin on June 16 with the Test series.
