Tarek Masood and Mishuk Munir, two proverbial men of the country's film and journalism world, were killed in a road accident on August 13, 2011.

A decade has passed since the untimely death of these two dedicated celluloid workers, but the grief of losing them has not yet subsided. The Dhaka University Film Society organised various programs like every other year to pay homage to them.

Mishuk Munir, on the other hand, was a talented teacher, journalist and photographer. After studying in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Dhaka University, he started teaching in this department. He was the lead photographer of the famous documentary 'Return to Kandahar' (2002). He was the lead photographer of Tareq Masood's latest film 'Runway' (2010). On their death anniversary, Dhaka University Film Society lit

lamps at 6 pm at the road accident memorial installation on the road island adjacent to Shamsunnahar Hall on DU campus. At 7 pm, a commemorative online programme titled ‘Jibon Jar Cholochitro’ was held in memory of talented producer Tareq Masood and photographer Mishuk Munir. Katherine Masood, Nahid Masood and Manjuli Kazi were present at the event.
