Tanore journo assaulted

As a sequel of the previous enmity, neighbours assaulted a local journalist at Tanore upazila in Rajshahi. The seriously injured journalist was admitted to Tanore Upazila Health Complex on April 13. 

The injured journalist is Mohammad Linkon, son of late Golam Kabir of Hapania village under Badhair union at the upazila. He works as Tanore Correspondent of Bangla daily ‘Sangbad’ and is the Editor of the online news portal ‘Mukh O Mukhosh’. 

In the morning of April 13, some neigbours of Linkon with local terrorists  Hakim alias Pakhi, 25, Mehedi, 22, Asgar, 32, Nazma, 42, Sohagi, 48, Fatema, 44, and Naoshad, 50, being armed with lethal weapons attacked suddenly on journalist Linkon. By being attacked, Linkon's head was fractured and various parts of his body received injury marks. Local people  rushed to the spot and rescued him and admitted him to the hospital with profuse bleeding on the head.

Linkon said, neighbour Hakim and his cohorts attacked him as he had been reporting news on various irregularities of the area. He filed a case with Tanore Police Station accusing seven people.

Meanwhile, Hakim alias Pakhi informed, they have been occupying a government Khas land for a long time but recently, Linkon passed objectionable remarks regarding the possession of the land that is why he was beaten. He warned of further action against Linkon if he tries to create further trouble in this connection. 

Rakibul Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Tanore Police Station, said that a complaint has been received in connection. Legal action will be taken after the investigation.
