Tanore farmers get harvester machines

To ease harvesting of paddy and meet the labourer-crisis, combined harvester machines are being supplied to the farmers of Tanore upazila at a subsidized price. 

On Thursday noon, Tonore Upazila Parishad Chairman Lutfar Haider Rashid Moina and the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Susanta Kumar Mahato handed over keys of two Japan made (Yanmar) combined harvester to two farmers of the upazila. 

The farmers were identified as Roknuzzaman of Kalma village and Sultan Ahmed of Lalpur village. Shamimul Islam, Upazila Agriculture Officer of Tanore upazila informed, price of those two combined harvester machine is Taka 41 lakh. Those machines were delivered to the farmers at 50 per cent subsidized price under Agricultural Machineries Assistance Programme of the government. 

The machine will be used for cutting, separating, threshing and filling of paddy in sacs. During handing over of the machines, Upazila Parishad Vice-Chairman Abu Bakker, Agriculture Extension Officer Saifullah, Lecturer Pradip Sarker and Crop Preservation Officer Altaf Hossain were present during handing over of the keys of the machines.
