Popular singer and actor Tahsan Khan is set to make his OTT debut with the suspense drama series "Baaji," premiering this Eid-ul-Azha on Chorki. The announcement followed a teaser post on Chorki's Facebook page, featuring a cricketer in a yellow jersey, sparking widespread speculation.
Directed by Arifur Rahman, famed for "Matir Projar Deshe," the series delves into the impact of betting on cricket. Tahsan stars as a cricketer, while Mithila portrays a journalist. However, it remains unclear if Tahsan’s character is based on a real-life cricketer.
"Baaji" will release its first seven episodes during Eid, featuring a star-studded cast, including Mim Mantasa, Manoj Pramanik, Nazia Haque Orsha, Shahadat Hossain, Partha Shek, Tasnuva Tisha, and Abrar Athar.
Sources close to the production revealed to The Daily Star that Tahsan and Mithila have been preparing for their roles for several months, with the initial phase of shooting recently completed.
Tahsan and Mithila, who married on August 3, 2007, and amicably separated in May 2017, have continued to showcase their on-screen chemistry in projects like "Amar Golpe Tumi," "Mr & Mrs," and "Landphoner Din Gulote Prem."
Mithila recently earned acclaim for her role in the film "O Abhagi," based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's story, directed by Anirban Chakraborty. Released in West Bengal on March 31, the film was praised for Mithila's compelling performance.
"Baaji" promises to be an engaging addition to Chorki’s lineup, with fans eagerly awaiting the collaboration of Tahsan and Mithila in this gripping new series.
