Tahsan, Mithila, Faria released from Evaly fraud scam

Popular Actors Tahsan Khan, Rafiath Rashid Mithila and Sabnam Faria finally released from the charges of a fraud case filed against them for allegedly colluding and embezzling money from e-commerce company Evaly.

On Sunday March 27, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque passed the order. The other two accused who got released are chief marketing officer SM Arif Reza Hussain and executive operation officer of Evaly Abu Tayes.

On the same day the court accepted the charges sheet against four persons including Evaly CEO Mohammad Rassel alias Babul his wife Chairman Shamima Nasrin and two others were the vice-president of Evaly Abdullah Al Mamun and category head Mohammad Abu Taher alias Saddam in the same case.

On December 4 last year, Saad Sam Rahman, a customer of Evaly, filed a case with the Dhanmondi Police Station against nine people, including Tahsan Khan, Rafiath Rashid Mithila and Sabnam Faria.

Tahsan was the Goodness Ambassador, Mithila as the brand ambassador and Sabnam Faria as chief public relations officer of Evaly.

According to the statement of the case, the money of the customers has been embezzled and assisted fraudulently. The amount of money embezzled was Tk 3 lakh 18 thousand which could not be recovered.

At that time, Dhanmondi police OC Md. Ekram Ali Mia said a customer of Evaly named Saad Sam Rahman filed a case with Dhanmondi Police Station on December 11. Evaly’s MD Mohammad Russell, chairman Shamima Nasrin, popular star Tahsan Khan, Rafiath Rashid Mithila and Sabnam Faria were among the nine accused in the case.

Asked what the plaintiff had alleged in the case, the OC said the accused in the case had embezzled Tk 3.18 lakh from him. The victim has not been able to recover the money yet. As a result, the victim Saad Sam was forced to file the case at the police station.
