Speakers at a press conference on Thursday alleged that under the patronisation of the influential group, a vested quarter is conducting widespread corruption and financial irregularities to send manpower in Malaysian labour market, destroying the image of the country as well as hindering economic growth, said a press release.

They said the vested group is not only cheating the unemployed youths, but also depriving the contemporary manpower recruiting agencies to conduct their ethical operational right through creating artificial crisis, said top leaders of the Sommilito Somonnoy Front of Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA).

They also underscored the need ofremoving the syndicate system for sending workforce in Malaysian market to prevent corruption and discouraging financial irregularities which is hindering the remittance inflow in the country.

“Only ten syndicate members led by Dato Amin are looting huge illegal money from the job seekers through grabbing money than the government prescribed amountTk 37,000. They are not only cheating the overseas job seekers, but also depriving the contemporary recruiting agencies snatching away their operational right”, said Dr. Mohammed Faruaque, President of Sommilito Somonnoy Front while speaking at the apress conference at National Press Club in the city on Thursday.

Addressing the press conference, the leadersdemanded for allowing all prescribed agencies to apply their operational right to send workforces in any oversea destinations which means that they are open for all labour markets.

They urged the government to remove all barriers to facilitate all recruiting agencies for ensuring their right as well as boosting higher foreign currency remittance inflow in the country.

Presently, approximately 1.20 crore migrant workers are working in various oversea countries, they are contributing a praiseworthy role for sending remittance inflow as well as maintaining huge foreign exchange reserve in the country, he said.

Despite pandemic situation, country earned approximately US$18 billion remittance in the lastfiscal year 2019-20 mainly due to the contribution of the migrant workers and the common recruiting agencies in the country. But it is very unfortunate that only ten agencies are holding the authorization of the labour recruiting process under the patronisation of theinfluential vested groups, mentioned the top leader.

Some 2,000 manpower recruiting agencies are sincerely and efficiently performing their appreciable role to send the unemployed youth in international labour market since long, but the syndicate members are creating obstacles in their business.

These ten recruiting agencies are the prescribed agencies to send manpower in Malaysia which is helping them to cheat the job seekers as well as looting public money.

He recommended the legendary Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to undertake holistic approach to prevent corruption of the unethical syndicate members as well as well ensuring justice to the common manpower recruiting agencies to allow their operational right.

President of Asian Television Harun-or-Rashid, Owner of Micro Export House Mostafa Mahmud, Managing Director of Liza Overseas Siraj Mia and a good number of stakeholders were also present on the occasion.
