Sylhet phase of the Bangladesh Premier League Cricket (BPL) turned into exciting when some of the teams will fight to remain in the top positions and some of them will fight to get rid of their embarrassing position, today and tomorrow.
In the day's match Dhaka Dominators and Rangpur Riders will play their respective important game when Khulna Tigers will take on the hosts Sylheet Strikers in the day's second match today at the Sylhet Stadium.
It will be ninth game for Dhaka Dominators and eight match for Rangpur Riders when they will play the first match of the day.
Sylhet Strikers, who are on the top of the points table obtaining 14 points from nine matches will play their 10th match with taking on the Khulna Tigers, who are struggling on seventh place playing as many matches.
For Sylhet Strikers it will be a do or die mission to remain on top of the points table when for Khulna Tigers will also embark on to lift up their position, as they are on seventh position managing only four points.
However, Rangpur Riders will embark on to remain on contest to seal their place among the top four when it will be a very prestigious encounter for Dhaka Dominators just to lift up their position from the bottom side of the points table.
Rangpur Riders earned 10 points from eight matches and are on fourth position with two matches left to play of the round robin league.
Dhaka Dominators are struggling, as they are the bottom side, after obtaining only four points with winning only two out of eight matches they played.
However, the Sylhet phase will be ended tomorrow with two matches will take place when Dhaka Dominators will face Fortune Barisal in the day’s first match and CumillaVictoriuans will play against Khulna Tigers in the second match.
Cumilla Victorians, who made wonderful comeback after losing three in a row out of four early of the tournament, moved up to third position and now they are eyeing to claim the second position.
Overall, hosts Sylhet will fight for to keep up their top position, Barisal will fight to move on top, Cumilla will play to move into the second when Rangpur Riders’ are eyeing to the third position. On the others hands, Dhaka and Khulna are struggling to get rid of the embarrassing position.
Meanwhile, the Sylhet phase get the real height of the BPL when there are people for the first time this season. Sylhet Stadium was filled with thousands of fans.
