Due to the coronavirus spread, the whole country is going through a nationwide crisis. However, lower and lower middle class families are the one suffering the most in this epidemic condition.
Amid this crisis, ABM Zillur Rahman, Councillor of Ward No 18 of Sylhet City Corporation, has come forward to help the lower income people stuck at home without work in his ward of the city.
Upholding the slogan ‘human for human' for the past one week he has been distributing food items among distressed people in his area. He has provided aid to more than 200 poor families in his ward till now.
ABM Zillur Rahman said that regarding this, many people have come forward to help the poor in this condition responding to his call. Their spontaneous help has given him courage to continue this work.
He said that from the fund raised from wealthy people's help and his own donation, he was able to help more that 200 unemployed distressed families including lower class as well as lower middle class families.
The Councillor informed, the relief that he got from the city corporation he distributed among poor people. However, seeing the ongoing situation, he started helping people in need on his own finance since April 23.
