The government has appointed Additional Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Syed Nurul Islam as the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) of the Dhaka Range.
According to a notification issued by the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry Sunday said the order would come into effect immediately.
Syed Nurul Islam, a Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) cadre officer of the 20th batch.
He served the police force in different positions with honesty and sincerity.
Earlier, Syed Nurul Islam served Mymensingh, Narayanganj and Cumilla as Superintendents of Police (SP) and performed with reputation.
Before the new posting, he was the Additional Commissioner (Logistic) of the DMP.
