Bank Asia Limited and Swisscontact Bangladesh have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoU) to promote accessible and small-ticket-sized women-friendly savings products to the RMG workers and their community members to improve their financial resilience.
Ziaul Hasan, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank Asia and Bipasha S. Hossain, Team Leader, Sarathi-Improving Financial Health, Swisscontact inked the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations in presence of Shafiuzzaman, President & Managing Director (CC) of the bank at a function held at it’s Corporate Office in Kawran Bazar, on 10 August.
Md. Sazzad Hossain, DMD & COO, Md. Serajul Islam, EVP, Quazi Mortuza Ali, SVP of the bank and Salma Akhter, Manager-Partnerships & Advocacy of Sarathi Project, Swisscontact, among others, were present.
Under the agreement of the project to be implemented in Dhaka, Gazipur, Narayanganj and Chattogram districts, both the organizations will work together to improve financial health of ready-made-garment workers by developing awareness, promoting ‘DPS-100’ and ‘Anchol’ products through cutting-edge campaigns and other engaging activities.
These initiatives will pave the way to bring banking facilities to RMG workers’ capitalization on the bank’s robust nation-wide Agent Banking Network, Mobile Application and Internet Banking channels.
