The Embassy of Sweden, Dhaka and Reproductive Health Services, Training and Education Program (RHSTEP), Bangladesh on Thursday signed a joint collaboration agreement of Swedish Kroner 12 million for “Strengthening of safe Menstrual Regulation and Family Planning services and reduction of unsafe abortions for improving SRHR situations in Bangladesh (Safe MR Project) Phase-II” project.
The project will run from January – December 2022. Christin Johannsson, Head of Development Cooperation, Embassy of Sweden, Dhaka and Quazi Suraiya Sultana, Executive Director of RHSTEP signed the agreement on behalf of their concerned organizations.
This agreement is an extension of a four year project of 48.5 million SEK implemented during October 2017 to September 2021 period in 22 districts of Bangladesh by RHSTEP and its partner organization Association for Prevention of Septic Abortions, Bangladesh (BAPSA).
Dr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Health Advisor, Embassy of Sweden, Dhaka & Md. Ashiqul Islam, Deputy Executive Director, RHSTEP were also present in the agreement signing ceremony.
