Swachip protests vandalism on Bangabandhu’s sculpture

The physicians in Jhenaidah under the banner of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad (Swachip) brought out a procession and formed a human chain in Jhenaidah district town on Tuesday protesting the vandalism of the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Over a hundred of physicians serving at different areas in the district participated in the protest rally.

Jhenidah district unit’s acting president of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Dr Munshi Mohammad Reza Sekender, Swachip’s district unit general secretary Dr Rashed Al Mamun, Civil Surgeon of Jhendaidah Dr Salina Begum, deputy director the department of family planning Dr Jahid Ahmed, Jhenaidah Sadar hospital superintendent Dr Harun Or Rashid, health and family planning officer (UHFPO) Dr Shamim Kabir, Dr Jakir Hossain, Dr Alauddin, Dr Mithila Parvin and Dr Prasenjit Biswas Partha took part in the protest programme, among others. 

The speakers said that vandalism the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is a heinous act of the coward people who had tried to fulfill their ill-motive against the sovereignty of the country. The people involved directly and indirectly must be punished so that they could not do this sort of dirty work in near future anymore, they warned.
