Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Akhtaruzzaman has opined that science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) need to be combined with humanities for sustainable development. He said, if human qualities are not included then the society will become individualistic. He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the publication festival of the book "Towards a Sustainable Economy: The Case of Bangladesh" published by the publishing company Rootless on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Professor Dr. Akhtaruzzaman also said that currently the government has taken appropriate steps for the development of the country.
In this, Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal, participating in the discussion, said that this book should be considered as an additional text book at the university level to build the country, as it has 13 articles on various aspects of country development, directions and realities. has been highlighted. He urged the integration of education, research and industry.
