SUST VC condoles death of JnU VC Imdadul

Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed on Saturday expressed deep grief at the death of Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Jagannath University (JnU) Md Imdadul Haque. 

Imdadul Haque passed away early Saturday morning at a hospital in the capital. The SUST Vice Chancellor expressed deep sorrow to the bereaved family members of the eminent academician.

Recalling his contribution to the higher education of the country, Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed expressed his condolences to all the bereaved family members, seeking forgiveness for the departed soul.

Dr Md Imdadul Haque, who had been suffering from cancer, breathed his last at around 5:19 am at BRB Hospital, Dhaka, confirmed by JnU Proctor Prof. Dr. Mostafa Kamal.

Prof. Imdadul was earlier taken to Singapore for better treatment. He was recently brought back to Dhaka and was undergoing treatment at BRB Hospital.

The students, teachers, officiants, the VC's relatives and other local people came to the university to pray the Janajah prayer which took place at 12 pm. After the second Janaza at Dhaka University Central Mosque, he was scheduled to be buried at Rayerbazar Graveyard.

The JnU administration has declared a three-day mourning and the classes and exams are postponed for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
