With the theme ‘We are bound by fraternity,’ the Alumni Association of Business Administration of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet has come forward to help the poor students of the department and their families in this current situation created following the coronavirus spread.

A fund has been created with the help of former and current students of the department in this regard. In the first phase, financial aid was sent to the families of students suffering from the outbreak of the corona virus from this fund, says a press release of the alumni association signed by its information secretary Kazi Rakin.

According to the Alumni Association, it is not their kindness rather responsibility to help or assist the students of their department amid the disaster caused by the global and national pandemic Covid-19.

From that realization, a fundraising initiative has been taken to support the students of the department who are experiencing difficulties to maintain minimum living conditions. From this fund, the Alumni Association will stand beside the students with any kind of assistance, not just in the present crisis but in future as well.

The coordinator of the fund and the president of the Alumni Association Tanvir Ahmed Tafadar said, "Not every students in our department is financially strong. Many students continue their studies with great difficulty. Many support their families as well as continue their studies with their tuition money.

So, the initiative will continue to help them in their distress. Based on the opinion of the alumni financial aid is being provided to the needy students keeping their identity hidden”. Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration Md. Monirul Islam and Head of the Department Mosaddek Ahmed Chowdhury thanked the students who coordinated the fund, saying, "In the future, arrangements will be made to help the students with tuition fees and other matters  from the department as well.
