Election Commissioner Ahsan Habib on Tuesday said a favourable environment has been prevailing in the country for the upcoming general election.
He made this comment in response to the questions of journalists at the Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday.
The Election Commission (EC) will organize a workshop with editors of different media on October 26. The EC sent a concept note to the editors along with the invitation to the event, he added.
The EC held a 25th commission meeting on Tuesday where they have decided to hold Patuakhali-1 by-election on November 26.
“It is the honorable CEC’s remark. But we can make it clear that there is no lack of coordination among us. Of course, an election atmosphere prevails in the country,” Ahsan Habib said.
“Whether the situation was favorable in the past general polls as per commission’s expectation ? They [past ECs] did not have the moral courage to say that,” he added.
