Workers of Sustainable Forests & Livelihoods (SUFAL) Project under Forest Department will get their wages through Nagad from Wednesday.
The Nagad, a leading mobile financial service in Bangladesh recently signed a tripartite agreement with Directorate of Posts, Nagad Ltd and Bangladesh Forest Department at Ban Bhaban.
Under the agreement, all workers of the project will enable to get their wages and allowances through Nagad without facing any hassle, said a press release on Wednesday.
Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests & Project Director of SUFAL Gobinda Roy, Director (Planning) of Directorate of Posts Parvin Banu and Executive Director of Nagad Md Shafayet Alam signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.
Chief External Affairs Officer of Nagad Sheikh Shabab Ahmed, General Manager of Commercial Affairs of Nagad Mohammad Monirul Islam, Deputy General Manager of Government Sales Operations of Nagad Tanveer Chowdhury, Chief Conservator of Forests Md Amir Hosain Chowdhury, Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests Md Moinuddin Khan and Postal Attach, of Directorate of Posts Md Mizanur Rahman were also present at the signing ceremony.
A day labourer will get Tk. 500 in wage per day, a watcher Tk. 3,000 per month and one tasked with community patrolling Tk. 1,800 per month.
The annual disbursement for paying salaries and other allowances among people engaged with the project stands at more than Tk. 200 crore.
