Students to get new books on New Year

More than five lakh students of various Pre-primary, Primary and Secondary levels under Rajshahi district are going to get their new books on the first day of the New Year. Teachers of the concerned schools will hand over new books to 520,518 students including 286,612 to Primary level students, 186,000 books to Secondary level students and 47,907 books to Pri-Primary level students in Rajshahi district. New books have arrived already in the schools of the districts.  

According to Official source of Rajshahi district Primary Education Officer, there are 1,945  Primary Schools of which 2,057 are government schools, 13,67, 862 books will be distributed among total students of various levels of schools in the district. Haider Ali of Mohisalbari Secondary School in Godagari informed, he has received all books except a few ones and hoped to get the rest of those within a short time. He said, due to Coronavirus infection, there will be no new book festival this year. He hopes to hand over the new books to the students on the first day of the New Year. 

District Primary Education Officer Abdus Salam informed, ' There will be no book festival this year due to Coronavirus. The school authorities have been directed to hand over new books to the students on the first day of New Year.' He further said, '84 percent of books from grade-1 to V have been sent to the school and the rest will also arrive soon.'   

Nasir Uddin, Rajshahi District Education Officer said, there will be no book distribution festival at the secondary level this year. Already 50 percent of books of grade six to 10 have reached and sent to concerned schools and the rest of the books will arrive soon, he informed.
