Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said if we know the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, we will know about the hopes, aspirations and dreams of the people of this land.

“Students have to learn from the life of Bangabandhu. This lesson will help them to march forward foiling the conspiracy against the country and its development.” she said.

The Minister made the remarks while addressing a discussion organised by Jagannath University Teachers’ Association on the occasion of the 52nd Independence and National Day 2022 at the central auditorium of the university on Monday.

The Minister also said, “Bangabandhu never made any hasty decision. He spread the dream of an independent country among all and also gave the outline for the implementation of that dream.”

She said, “Students should get admitted according to the university’s capacity. Accommodation, food and classroom crisis should not be created by admitting students beyond the capacity of a university. We must not only give importance to the number of students but also consider maintaining a balance.”

She further said that not just in terms of student admissions, every university has to have its own academic master plan.

“The university must know in what special position it sees itself in the future,” the Minister added.

Jagannath University Teachers’ Association President Prof Md Abul Hossain presided over the programme. The keynote paper was presented by National University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Mashiur Rahman.
