Students monitor markets in Satkhira to control price

After managing traffic on roads and conducting cleaning drives, the students of anti-discriminatory student movement in Satkhira have started monitoring the markets to control price of products.

The students monitored Sultanpur Boro Bazar (market) on Friday. Besides the cleaning drives and traffic management, the students monitored the price and checked the price list of the products of kitchen markets.

They monitored the price list in the fish market, meat market and vegetable market in Sultanpur Boro Bazar. They also checked whether the shopkeepers were selling their products at fair price according to the price list or not. The students also urged the shopkeepers to hang price list and run their business.

The students asked the shopkeepers to not to pay any extortion to anyone. They also urged the shopkeepers not to hike price unnecessarily of daily essentials so that people won’t face any suffering. 

From anti-discriminatory student movement, it was said that the sellers blamed the wholesale market syndicate for price hike of the products. Besides, the students monitored sugar market, fish and chicken markets and other matters.

During the market monitoring, the coordinator of Satkhira unit of anti-discriminatory student movement Tamim Tasmin, assistant coordinator Omor Tasnim, Sabbir Islam, Farhan Tanvir and others were present.
