The coronavirus pandemic has forced us back in every aspect. Education sector has been hit hard by the pandemic in every aspect. Hundreds of thousands of students of the National University (NU) are suffering due to the aggravated session jam amid the pandemic.

On the other hand, they are also not being able to find jobs as they have not completed their graduation. Most of them are crossing the age limit of applying for government jobs. As a result, frustration and anxiety are increasing among the students. Many frustrated students have dropped out of education.

Authorities concerned should frame strategies so

that students can finish their graduation on t

ime and apply for government jobs

Educational institutions were declared closed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The students under National University have been studying in the same class for two years. While other private and public universities have completed the final exams online, the National University authorities have lagged far behind.

Although online classes were taken, no initiative was taken for conducting examination. University authorities gave conditional promotion to honors first and second year students without any class or examination. It was then informed that the test would be taken when the Covid-19 situation comes under control. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, it has not been possible to take the exams.

Historically, our country’s education system follows conventional face-to-face or in-class teaching in almost all educational institutions and that include schools, colleges, and universities. However, after the declaration of closure of educational institutions since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the government has focussed on online-based teaching and exams. National University students should also get that opportunity to give exams online. Students can attend online classes and give exams physically by following health protocols. Also, authorities concerned should frame strategies so that students can finish their graduation on time and apply for government jobs.
