Students are cleaning the roads and sidewalks in the capital city of Dhaka and other metropolitan cities across the country.

The students wearing gloves and with polybags in their hands were seen cleaning roads and controlling traffic on Thursday. They were also  cleaning wastes like used paper and bottle on the roads and also removing posters from the walls.

Instead of having notebooks and pens with them, the students were also seen erasing the wall writing and drawing flowers there.

Students’ such positive activity are being discussed in the tea stall, offices, or social media.

Not limiting themselves to the anti-discrimination student movement, the student society has also joined hands in the reconstruction of the country.

With the fall of the government led by Sheikh Hasina, the overall law and order situation in the country have been deteriorated. Along with this, the road traffic management also collapsed.

Many police personnel lost their lives in the bloody clash between the students and the police.

In such situation, students engage themselves in maintaining traffic and cleaning the roads. They saw it as part of nation building. Their presence was noticeable in all the cities across the country.

They had brooms and spades in their hands. Some went down to knee-deep dirty water that had accumulated for a long time. They worked together without age and gender differences.

Many people saw it as a new Bangladesh. Netizens have made the pictures and videos of the students’ such voluntary activities viral through social media.

Drivers of buses, CNG-run auto-rickshaws are happy to drive their vehicles without giving any illegal toll and facing any trouble.

Abdur Rahman, a private employee said that traffic management was very orderly. There is was no extortion on the road.

“We are also happy to see that pedestrians can now walk on the road freely with facing any hassle. We want this trend to continue,’ he added.
