Speakers at an awareness training workshop have said that the noise pollution is a silent killer. The government is giving importance to control noise pollution in the country. The students can play a vital role to control noise pollution. They should be involved in awareness over the issue.
The Department of Environment (DoE) arranged the awareness training workshop on noise pollution with students at BIAM Model School and College in the capital on Monday (July 17, 2023).
The DoE arranged the training programme under the project ‘Integrated and Participatory Project to Control Noise Pollution’.
Muhammad Hiruzzaman, a joint secretary and director (education) of BIAM Foundation; attended the event as the chief guest with Sazzadur Rahman, principal of BIAM Model School and College; in the chair.
Fazle Elahi, project manager of the Integrated and Participatory Project to Control Noise Pollution; delivered the welcome speech at the awareness training workshop, while Shahana Haque, principal of BIAM Laboratory School and College; and Noor-e-Diba; vice principal of BIAM Model School and College; spoke as special guests.
Gazi Mohibur Rahman, training and campaign consultant at Integrated and Participatory Project to Control Noise Pollution project of DoE; presented the keynote speech at the event. A video on the negative impact of noise pollution was shown at the beginning of the event.
The Integrated and Participatory Project to Control Noise Pollution project is being implemented in a bid to reduce the noise pollution in Bangladesh, particularly in city areas, to a tolerable level.
