Coronavirus pandemic situation in the country has been stable for the last few months as the infection rates are coming down. The situation is slowly improving and hence government has decided to reopen the educational institutions after almost a year and a half of closure due to the pandemic.
However, the situation can still get worse and therefore the government has decided to provide Covid-19 vaccine to all citizens above 18 years. A plan is underway to gradually bring students of 12 years and above under vaccination coverage.
At present, the age limit has been reduced to 18 to bring public and private universities' students under vaccination but, measures are also being taken to bring all students of 12 years and above under vaccination coverage. Schools have reopened from September 12 and therefore widespread initiatives are needed to vaccinate students all around the country.

Bangladesh could restart the vaccination with this trench of vaccine that would help improve immunity and resistance. The coronavirus pandemic has already done massive damage to our country and the light at the end of the tunnel has now emerged from the quick availability and distribution of safe, effective vaccines to all age groups. We still need to procure more vaccines as soon as possible and from sustainable sources. The government can also explore options to produce vaccines in the country to ensure immunisation for most of the people.
Currently, for herd immunity, we are really far away from vaccinating the maximum number of people in the country. Therefore, it is vital for our country to continue widespread vaccination drives or else the longer there will be delays, the longer pandemic will sustain.
