One of the coordinators of the anti-discriminatory student movement Al Imran on Tuesday said that the anti-discriminatory student protesters will not take responsibility for any looting and arson in Satkhira district.

He made the assertion on behalf of the anti-discriminatory student protesters at a press briefing held on the Shahedd Minar premise of Satkhira Government College in protest of the attack, vandalism and killing in Satkhira district. General students, along with other coordinators, were present with him at that time.

He said that they are in favor of the state reform and meeting the demands of the students. He said that they do not want to implement any party agenda. The looting, vandalism and killing centering the movement was regrettable. However, the anti-discriminatory student protesters will not take responsibility for that, he said.

He said to the looters and arsonists not to destroy the properties of the country. He also said committees are being formed in Assasuni and Shaymnagar Upazila so that none can loot any public establishment and attack the minorities. These committees will be formed in all Upazilas gradually.

Earlier, the students met with the teachers of Satkhira Government College and expressed their anger and asked why the teachers were not beside them during the movement and why a list of the protesters was given to the police administration from the teachers. The teachers were not able to give them any satisfactory answer to the question. They expressed their regret regarding these incidents.
