A textile engineering student was found dead, hanging from the roof of a building at Boalkhali upazila in Chattogram district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Rahmat Ali Shifat, 23, son of Md Zafar Sawdagar, a resident of Taleb Member Bari in Jamtal, Ward No. 1 of the upazila.
Locals had earlier spotted the hanging body of the college student Shifat and informed the police. Upon receiving the information, Boalkhali police recovered his hanging body from the roof of the SM Convention Hall building at Kadurkhil Chowdhury Hat in the upazila.
Boalkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Lutfor Rahman said that upon receiving the news, police went to the scene, recovered the body and sent it to Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue.
