An SSC examinee named Sonia Das (18) has committed suicide in a residential hostel of Probortak Sangha (Bangladesh) under Panchlaish police station in Chattogram city. Police recovered the body from the 4th floor of a residential hostel on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sonia, daughter of Lalu Das of Amilaish area in Satkaniaupazila.
Panchlaish police sub-inspector (SI) Abdul Mannan said Sonia, an SSC examinee, committed suicide by wrapping a veil with a fan in her room on the 4th floor of a residential hostel on Friday morning.
The use of mobile phones is prohibited in the promoters' association. The hostel authorities found his mobile phone. Authorities contacted his mother about the matter. It is initially believed that the mother and daughter committed suicide due to quarreling and arrogance.
The body was recovered and sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he said.
