Footpaths along the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban have many stories to tell. Lost in those stories is the story of Jannatul Ferdous. The little girl arranging and sorting out the flowers while her little baby brother Omar Faruque playfully resides under her guidance.
Noorjahan Begum, their mother, is likely to be around trying to turn the flowers into cash. Her other son Osman Goni is on the same duty. The eldest of the children, Fatema, is the all-rounder. She acts as the middleman and spreads the network of the family business on the streets.
She looks over Jannatul and collects the flowers and sells them with her mother and brother. At the end of the day, the family returns home to Mohammadpur to come back the next morning; to start another day spreading the enchanting fragrances of the colourful petals.
