Stop your make-up from melting

Eid is just around the corner and women are now only concerned about their Eid look and how to look their best on Eid day. This year Eid will once again fall during the longer, warmer summer days.

Though this is a glorious time, but the rising heat certainly makes it harder for our makeup to stay where it should. Smudgy mascara, sweaty eye lids, vanishing foundation -- we've all been there. Thankfully it's easier to beat the heat than you think.

Here's how you can stop your make-up from melting

Exfoliate your skin

Before putting anything on face, exfoliate your skin. Use scrub or any exfoliating paste to clean your face. Waxing your face is also a form of exfoliation. So, if you are planning on waxing an area on your face, make sure you avoid exfoliating your skin before and after your wax to prevent from damage or discomfort from occurring.

Moisturize

Apply a light layer of moisturizer for a sheer glow. Moisturizer prevents your foundation from looking caked-on, and keeps your skin healthy underneath your makeup.

Invest in primer

Primers are definitely the way to go in summer. They don’t feel at all like a heavy, additional layer, and they really help hold makeup in place. Use a gel-based moisturiser and apply a primer prior to foundation.

Keep things light

If you want to keep your makeup from creasing and caking, less is more. Use light make up on face including blush, eye shadows, concealer and base. Natural makeup is suitable for summer season.

Avoid shimmer

Avoid shimmers and cream foundations or anything too luminous, as the humidity will make you extra shiny and sweaty-looking if you have too much sparkle on your skin.

Use waterproof formulas

With the heat from the body and the summer’s high temperatures, most eyeliners will end up either running or will have to be reapplied all day, use waterproof and smudge free formulas for eyeliners and mascaras.

Go bold with the lips

The only part where you can play with colors is your lips. Don’t use lip glosses in summer, use heavy matte lipsticks. Try sweet pink or peach shades for a traditional summery look, or go bold with tangerine and grape colors for something more daring.

Use a setting spray

When you are done with your make-up sprit on a setting spray. It will help to seal the look and won't melt easily.
