Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud has called for an immediate end to the forced resignations and harassment of teachers across educational institutions in the country.

Speaking at a meeting with the ministry of education officials at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Wahiduddin condemned the ongoing incidents of forced resignations and harassment, labelling them as ‘absolutely unacceptable.’

He emphasised that such practices must stop immediately.

Wahiduddin, also the planning adviser, said the authorities concerned will thoroughly investigate any allegations of corruption or misconduct against teachers or officials, and necessary actions will be taken. He urged authorities concerned to strictly adhereto the existing code of conduct when dealing with disciplinary violations.

Wahiduddin also noted that local authorities have been directed to intervene in cases involving illegal or criminal activities within educational settings.

He urged students to help maintain a conducive learning environment at the educational institutions.
