Stocks witness up on large-cap vibe

Stocks on Sunday witnessed upward trend as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges were found rising with higher activities of some large-cap securities.

DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 66.74 points or 1.07 per cent to settle at 6,280.74. 

Two other indices also ended higher with the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, rose 7.92 points to finish at 2,124.69 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 8.14 points to close at 1,371.06.

At DSE, out of the day's 395 securities, prices of 321 securities closed higher against 45 losing issues.

The day's trade value at the DSE increased to Taka 15,804.06 million which was Taka 11,220.91 million at the previous session of the week.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with an upward trend with its major CASPI 218.68 points up at 17,844.80.

At the CSE, 294 issues were traded. Of those, 226 closed higher and 66 closed lower when 86.44 lakh shares worth Taka 18.62 crore changed hands.
