Stocks on Wednesday performed mixed with major indices finishing flat.
DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 5.51 points or 0.08 per cent to settle at 6,279.11. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) closed the day 3.70 points up at 2,198.41. But the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, closed the day 1.97 points down to finish at 2,198.41.
Of the 347 issues traded, 94 advanced, 56 declined and 197 remained unchanged on the DSE floor.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, decreased to Tk 7,217.81 million on the country's premier bourse which was Tk 8,312.79 million at the previous session of the week.
INTERCO became the day's turnover leader, followed by AGNISYSL, CVOPRL, UNIQUEHRL and EHL.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with an upward trend with its major CASPI 1.05 point down at 18,503.08.
At the CSE, 220 issues were traded. Of those, 62 closed higher and 44 closed lower when 89.61 lakh shares worth Taka 22.50 crore changed hands.
