Stocks on Thursday performed mixed with major indices finishing flat.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 3.18 points up at 6,214.20. The Shariah DSES closed the day with 1.59 points up at 1,347.89. But the blue-chip DS30 closed the day with 3.14 points down at 2,198.89.
The day's trade value at DSE increased to Taka 6,123.19 million from Wednesday's Taka 5,273.70 million.
At DSE, out of the day's 330 securities, prices of 60 securities closed higher against 64 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were PAPERPROC, Mid Land Bank, ORIONINFU, MONOSPOOL and APEXFOOT. The major losing companies were LEGACYFOOT, STANCERAM, STYLECRAFT, AZZPIPES and ISNLTD.
GENEXIL topped the turnover list followed by EHL, AAMRANET, APEXFOOT and UNIQUEHRL.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with an upward trend with its major CASPI 3.53 points down at 18,304.76.
At CSE, 125 issues were traded. Of those, 33 closed higher and 39 closed lower when 8.35 crore shares worth Taka 6.40 crore changed hands.
